Sleep FACTS, Dreaming & Astrology and the Story Behind My Logo
I had a dream…
April 29th, 2019 I woke up from having an interesting dream. I always have crazy and diverse dreams. Every night I feel like I go to sleep and wake up in another dimension where I am myself but simply going through whatever is happening, sometimes fully knowing I’m dreaming. This is called lucid dreaming which happens during the REM cycle of our sleep.

My heart felt so good, so warm and fuzzy. I felt in a blissful state of mind as I lay there still in bed, reimagining what I had just seen.
A little about sleep before I go on with my story.
“Non-REM sleep includes three separate stages. During non-REM, your brain waves, heartbeat, and eye movements gradually slow down.
In REM sleep, your brain is extremely active. Your heart rate and eye movements also increase. Your arms and legs become temporarily paralyzed during this stage to prevent you from physically acting out your dreams. (Crazy, right!)
Lucid dreaming, like most dreams, usually happens during REM sleep.
In a lucid dream, you know that you’re dreaming. You’re aware of your awareness during the dream state.
About 55 percent of people have experienced one or more lucid dreams in their lifetime. However, frequent lucid dreaming is rare. Only 23 percent of people have lucid dreams at least once a month.” – Healthline
“During deep sleep, a variety of functions take place in the mind and body:
- memories are consolidated
- learning and emotions process
- physical recovery occurs
- blood sugar levels and metabolism balance out
- the immune system is energized
- the brain detoxifies
Without deep sleep, these functions cannot take place and the symptoms of sleep deprivation kick in.”
Let’s continue…
As I laid in bed I remembered being on the apron, where the airplane parks to board passengers and refuel, but it wasn’t one of those with clean and asphalted ground. It looked like I was in a dessert-like area with nothing else in sight, but I knew for a fact that I was there to welcome my sister who would be landing soon.
My sister arrives and as I greet her I do a double take on what I’m seeing behind her and even interrupted her to look. We both stood there, enjoying the view in awe. To describe what I saw is hard, but imagine you’re standing in a desert like open location, the sun is shining, its probably way past 1 PM because the sun was starting to slowly descend behind me. On the horizon way ahead of us, I saw a big planet sticking out. The reason why I was in awe was because it was so green and blue and beautiful.
As I laid in bed I began wondering what I was standing on all along if what I was seeing looked like Earth?!
To this day I cannot answer this question. But immediately I had a vision. I put my vision together by photoshopping my own pictures with what I found online and immediately messaged my good friend Chris so he could help me put my vision into a real illustration. Chris has great illustration skills, I think we can all agree.
About a month ago at that time I had a wonderful photoshoot with a photographer named Izzy, who took these picture of me that I knew I had to utilize.
I used his photo along with three others I found on the internet to put my vision together and I was able to come up with the following.

I explained everything to Chris and that I wanted this piece of art to embody who I am. After a few revisions I was happy with the final result.

When you first look at it you may notice the bigger objects like the Earth behind me and the halo over my head, maybe the position I am in. I may even look like I’m dancing even though I am sitting. But beyond the obvious images that are derived from my dream I wanted to include a couple symbols that also embodies who I am.
If you look carefully around the Earth you will see symbols of the crescent moon, the sun, butterfly and a scorpion. The moon because I always feel some sort of inexplainable pull towards the moon. I find myself speaking to Her now because she has always been there for me when I was going through tough times. Looking at Her made me feel at ease and she always found a way to guide me towards the truth. I know I probably sound completely insane to most of you, but those who know, know…
The sun, because I feel my best when I can feel the sun shine hitting my skin. I’ve always felt like I blossomed like a flower in Spring and fully flourished in the Summer.
Butterfly, because it represents the soul, freedom, adaptability, the never ending cycle of life or metamorphosis, and playfulness.
The scorpion because based on my birth chart (What is a birth chart? Blog post coming soon) my sun is in Scorpio. I’ve always felt connected with the Universe, feeling signs from nature and energies surrounding me.
All of these things sum up who I am, and what I’ve covered so far is just the surface of things. If you’re interested in astrology whether its birth chart and figuring yourself out by looking at the star alignment when you were born, chakras, energy, healing through rituals etc. I will cover all of these topics in the blog posts to come.
I am so proud of this visual Chris, Izzy and myself have created here. Thank you for reading and I’ll catch you next time.
Side Note: I also find numerology fascinating (another blog post idea). If you remember I mentioned that I had that dream on April 29th 2019. The illustration was finalized on May 9th, 2019. The 9’s keep popping out at me. And it doesn’t surprise me because my personal number is a number 3.
